Precision Rehab has reported a positive response at the Kidz to Adultz South event, where it showcased examples from its range of powerchairs, including the iBOT PMD.

Matt James, Director, Precision Rehab, commented: “This year’s show was another fantastic event for us. To be able to demonstrate products such as the iBOT PMD, especially the stair climbing function to parents, carers and other healthcare professionals in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere was fantastic.

“The feedback we received about the iBOT PMD along with other powerchair models on show once again exceeded our expectations. The quality and number of enquiries we received during the day was very high and we are now booking follow-up assessments and demonstrations.

“This event continues to be an important part of our annual exhibition programme, and I would like to say well done to everyone involved in another great Kidz to Adultz event.”

The iBOT PMD incorporates powerchair electronics, sensors, battery technology and software designed to support users in accessing a range of environments. It has four driving modes.

Balance Mode provides additional height, enabling the user to travel in a raised position and at the same height as friends, family members or colleagues. This can support everyday activities such as shopping, working and attending social events. Balance Mode also increases the ground clearance of the main chassis from 2.8” (71mm) to 9.5” (241mm).

Standard Driving Mode is for use as a standard wheelchair and is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments.

Four Wheel Drive Mode enables the iBOT to navigate individual steps, slopes and different terrains, including gravel, rough ground, pebbles, loose ground and snow. The mode increases the maximum obstacle height to 5” (127mm).

Stair Climbing Mode enables the iBOT to climb and descend stairs, controlled by the user or assisted by an attendant. The function is intended to support access in buildings with stairs, including homes where users may otherwise rely on a stairlift or through-floor lift to access other floors.

The iBOT PMD also includes a range of seating options, a maximum user capacity of 136kg, a left or right-handed ergonomic joystick, tilt-in-space function and a top speed of 6.8mph.

Precision Rehab also reported another highly successful Naidex, where it showcased the Permobil range of advanced powerchairs, with 10 chairs on display.
