European Seating Symposium

The European Seating Symposium (ESS), the leading event in Europe for advancing and promoting research, education and practice in the field of seating, wheeled mobility and assistive technologies, has been postponed until 2021.

The seventh symposium in the event’s history was set to take place from the 10th to 12th June 2020 in Dublin’s Croke Park Stadium, however, the conference will now be held in June 2021.

Geared towards professionals, manufacturers, suppliers and users of seating & assistive technology, the symposium consists of a busy schedule of talks and presentations delivered by speakers globally, as well as an exhibition featuring many leading brands in the mobility sector.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the event has now been moved to the 16th to the 18th June 2021, with the pre-symposium workshops taking place on the 15th June 2021.

An email to the industry read: “The ESS Organising Committee have evaluated and exhausted all options for delivering the conference within 2020 and have concluded that unfortunately there is no viable date for the Symposium to take place this year.

“The Conference will now take place from 15-18 June 2021 at the original location, Croke Park Stadium, Dublin.”

The event joins many other industry events to have been postponed this year due to the pandemic, including Naidex, Motability’s The Big Event, Warrington Disability Partnership’s Disability Awareness Day, several OTAC conferences and Kidz to Adultz South.
