Mobility equipment specialist Ottobock UK has announced that Keir French will be joining its established Human Mobility team as Business Manager later this month.

Milton Keynes-based Keir joins the Human Empowerment Company at Ottobock UK and will be focused on adding value to its retail customer base.

He began his journey in the mobility sector over 20 years ago and made significant strides in the industry through building solid relationships with his colleagues, customers and alike.

Keir said: “Back in the early days, lots of people that I worked with were setting up their own businesses or moving around in the industry, which is a testament to this wonderful world of mobility and helping people. Those relationships I made in those early days have stayed with me.”

Strong industry connections has been a key ingredient to Keir’s success so far, and to the value he can bring to his new customers.

The appeal of working for global manufacturer Ottobock was strong for Keir, having seen what the company provides for people.

He commented: “I’d go to Naidex most years and when you look around, a lot of businesses would be there regularly and present similar products year on year.

“With Ottobock, they would always stand out to me as the premium company offering something different each time.”

So when the opportunity arose to work for a global brand with over 100 years of experience in helping people living with disability, Keir jumped at the chance.

“In my first few months, my aim is to get out and meet my new customers, find out how they work, what they need from me and demonstrating the value I can provide to them,” said Keir.

Simon Tempest, Head of Human Mobility Business Unit at Ottobock added: “We are delighted to welcome Keir to our team and I have no doubt on the value he’ll bring to the business and our customers.”

Keir joins the Ottobock team on 21st February and will be covering the south of England.

Established in the UK in 1976, Ottobock is a supplier of innovative and practical solutions that restore human mobility and help people to rediscover personal independence.

Its product range includes prosthetic and orthotic components, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation and mobility products, including the Wingus power wheelchair and the Kimba, a children’s buggy which the firm re-launched in late 2021.
