Rotobed

Care bed and pressure mattress specialist Opera Beds has launched a range of rotating chair beds that encourage independence, combining advanced clinical functionality with stylish and homely designs.

The Rotobed is the latest addition to Opera’s range of beds and mattresses. According to Opera, its design was influenced by award-winning Danish furniture designer, Hans Sadgren Jakobsen, and is one of the most advanced and feature-rich rotating chair beds in the world.

The electrical adjustable bed can be transformed from a lying position to an upright chair, whilst fully supporting the user in a smooth and comfortable motion, unlike common rotating chair beds.

The bed can also be specified at a fixed height or with electric height adjustment to ease access and facilitate nursing.

The Rotobed, which is manufactured in Denmark, is supported by a five-year warranty, with users able to personalise the chair bed with fabric, colour, handset and accessory options including wireless control and under bed lighting.

A spokesperson for Opera Beds commented: “The benefits of the Rotobed go way beyond those from a traditional chair bed, and is highly praised by users themselves, caregivers and occupational therapists who have shared their experiences…

“Getting in and out of bed without assistance and changing position independently can have a huge positive impact on wellbeing and dignity. It also allows for improved efficiency for carers and gives assurance to family members that their loved one is well supported.”

Opera Beds last year revamped its website with a ‘configure and visualise’ function enabling customers to tailor beds to their requirements.

The website features the full range of care and comfort beds, allowing care providers or private customers to select from a variety of widths, woods and materials and see what the finished product will look like.

According to the company at the time, the newly-designed website was Opera’s next step towards becoming a leading provider in the UK care bed and pressure mattress arena.

It comes following the company’s rebranding back in October 2019 after deciding to concentrate its efforts on its bed and mattress range in the long-term care sector.
