Only Fools and Horses’ star brings warmth to refreshed Stiltz television advert
Stiltz Homelifts, one of the mobility and access sector’s fastest-growing companies, has brought in much-loved television star David Jason to help lift its renewed television campaign.
Best known for his role as Derek Edward Trotter, more commonly known as Del Boy, in Only Fools and Horses, Jason’s long television has seen him play many iconic roles, including Detective Inspector Jack Frost in A Touch of Frost and the lovable ‘Perfick’ Pop Larkin in Darling Buds of May.
Additionally, the talented actor has voiced many popular children’s TV and film characters, from Mr. Toad in The Wind in the Willows to Danger Mouse & Count Duckula.
According to Stiltz, Jason was chosen to do the voice-over because of his instantly-recognisable voice which has a natural warmth and an ability to quickly create affinity with an audience.
The TV spot features Stiltz’ Duo+ Home Lift, capable of carrying two people, being used in a home whilst Jason describes the features and benefits to viewers, such as affordability, usability and the product’s lifestyle-orientated design.
In particular, the television advert directly challenges the idea of having a stairlift, with Jason stating: “Did you know, a home lift, unlike a stairlift, could add value to your home?”
He goes on to ask viewers: “So why have a stairlift when you can have a real lift?”
Running throughout January and February on national and regional TV digital channels, the one-minute advert invites viewers to call the homelift supplier directly for more information.
With national and regional television spots still relatively expensive to produce, film and air, Stiltz stands amongst a handful of players in the marketing investing in TV advertising, which still commands a large audience.
The television campaign continues with the company’s cross-channel marketing activity, with last year seeing the homelift specialist effectively use radio, social media and exhibitions to reach a wide-span of consumers.
