One of the largest national mobility providers in the USA, Numotion, has acquired Wheeler’s Medical Supply, a provider of intermittent catheters and incontinence supplies based in Florida.

Boasting a wide product portfolio of manual and powered wheelchairs through to home access solutions and complex rehabilitation technology, Numotion has expanded stateside in the past year, following its acquisition of Northland Rehab Supply in August 2020 and BritKare’s Rehab Division in November 2020.

Now, with the acquisition of Wheeler’s Medical Supply, Numotion says this will enable it to expand its existing medical supplies business to comprehensively serve the mobility and lifestyle needs of its customers.

“Growing Numotion’s medical supplies offering with the addition of the Wheeler’s team enables Numotion to more comprehensively serve the needs of an expanded customer base and allows us to continue to empower people to actively participate in everyday life,” commented Numotion’s CEO, Mike Swinford.

“Wheeler’s has a track record of exceptional customer service and our goals in serving customers align in a way that makes this acquisition a natural step on our path to serving the needs of more customers.”

Wheeler’s Florida location will be Numotion’s sixth branch in the state and brings additional resources and expertise to its national footprint for medical supplies.

Numotion’s medical supplies division provides an extensive portfolio including catheters, incontinence, ostomy, and advanced wound care products from major US manufacturers.

Wheeler’s Medical Supply Founder Donald Moran III added: “The culture at Numotion is clearly one of caring for customers, and I wanted to not only partner with a company that shared my philosophy, but join my business with a family of experts who can support a wide range of independence needs. My whole premise in starting Wheeler’s was to make sure that nobody goes without supplies.

“Numotion shares a similar view and brings a broader portfolio of products and services. Our customers can expect the same level of dedication we have always provided, but now with the strength and size of Numotion behind them.”

In December, Numotion signed a distribution agreement for the LUCI power wheelchair sensor system in the United States – a move which could precipitate the introduction of this “game-changing” product in the UK.

LUCI attaches to power wheelchairs to provide security, stability and connectivity, helping users navigate various environments and terrains with greater safety and confidence.
