TOPRO Pegasus

Topro, the Scandinavian manufacturer of a range of mobility aids and specialising in rollators, will be showcasing its new TOPRO Pegasus carbon fibre rollator to occupational therapists at this year’s OT Show following its announcement to concentrate on its own-brand range.

The walking aid weighs 6.2kg (6.6kg with the shopping bag) and features a patent-pending brake, TOPRO Ergo Grip handle, shock-absorbing wheels and partially integrated brake pulls.

Also featuring a new rollator bag with a new design, Topro says the bag provides the user with an unrestricted view of the pavement thanks to its positioning, together with reflectors to improve user safety. Describing it as clever and practical, the bag offers a range of storage options for small things such as keys, phone and purse with its inner pocket.

Speaking with Paul Briggs, Managing Director of Topro UK, for the company’s ‘More About…’ feature, he highlighted how important engaging with OTs is for the company, despite not adopted a direct-to-market sales approach.

“We want to be seen as the rollator experts and it is the reason why we invest in doing shows like these, even though we do not sell directly to end-users or healthcare professionals,” he told THIIS at the time.

“The OT Show gives us a wonderful opportunity to showcase our products to the healthcare sector. We know it is good exposure for the brand and a great chance to meet the people that are using or recommending our products, giving us an opportunity to advise and educate.

“Being visible at these shows and engaging with healthcare professionals means we now have occupational therapists contact us and ask us for our advice.”

The new product announcement comes following the end of Topro and Dutch-based rollator manufacturer Rollz’ distribution relationship, which saw the Norwegian-based manufacturer supplying Rollz’ rollator range in the UK.

According to Topro, the decision was motivated by the desire to focus on its own range of mobility aids, with Rollz confirming it is launching a new company in the UK in 2020.

This year’s OT Show will be taking place on the 27th and 28th November 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham.

Topro will be on stand F55.
