Sunrise Medical imageAssistive mobility solutions provider Sunrise Medical is offering a new series of courses to support retail providers and other healthcare professionals in assessing, prescribing and fitting mobility and seating technology for their clients.

Education in Motion (EIM) STEPS courses are a series of free clinical and technical courses which focus on wheelchair maintenance, programming and mechanical topics.

The courses, which are available to view in full on the Sunrise Medical website, are run by a team of occupational therapists and combine presentations with hands-on practical sessions. They take place at Sunrise Medical’s HQ on Thorns Road, Brierley Hill, West Midlands, DY5 2LD.

The upcoming Manual Mobility Express course on 30 September focuses on assessing and prescribing highly configurable manual wheelchairs. Newer courses for this year also include posture and seating training on the JAY seating range and a detailed look at Sunrise Medical’s powerchair portfolio.

Interested participants can sign up via the Sunrise Medical website for the open courses, or email steps@sunmed.co.uk. Refreshments and lunch are provided.

Wendy Busby, Clinical Trainer at Sunrise Medical, commented: “Our STEPs courses are designed to give retailers the confidence and knowledge they need to support their customers in the best possible way.

“We cover a wide range of topics – from seating and posture through to product features and practical solutions – so retailers can match the right equipment to the right individual.

“The more informed and skilled retailers are, the more trust and value they bring to their customers, which ultimately strengthens both sales and customer satisfaction.”

Firms with a team of people who are unable to attend a course at Sunrise Medical HQ and want to arrange a STEPS course closer to home are invited to contact their local area sales representative at Sunrise Medical to discuss their needs.

Sunrise Medical recently unveiled the QUICKIE Q50 R Carbon Comfort, a lightweight folding powerchair with new comfort options designed to provide a smooth riding experience.
