New owners of JB Mobility promise to continue developing Rota wheelchair portfolio

The directors have confirmed that they will continue to manufacture and modernise the custom-made Rota wheelchair portfolio, which have been manufactured in Ireland for 50 years.
The portfolio, which was established in 1981, has expanded in recent years with the introduction of new wheelchairs such as the Rota Active open-frame wheelchair, with a transport weight of 8kg.
A number of other lightweight wheelchairs have also been developed, and the firm states that it recently introduced a new active-grip silicone profile handrim and powered products.
Rota specialises in developing products with the user in mind and recently completed its transition to supply directly to the HSE (Health Service Executive), Ireland’s public healthcare provider.
Bob Diamond, Director of JB Mobility, commented to THIIS: “This move means that we will provide the service directly from factory to user, thus reducing cost and improving communication between us and the client. We are excited to offer this more hands-on approach.”
In July 2020, MMS Medical announced that it had assumed overall responsibility for the assessment, sales, distribution and aftercare of the Rota brand of manual wheelchairs in Ireland due to the retirement of dealer principal David and Joan Diamond of Delta Orthopaedic.
