New mobility shop adds to south coast’s flooded mobility retail environment
Launching its third retail space with a large new shop in Dorset, Baron Medical, trading as Mobility Scooters UK, has added to the south coast’s increasingly competitive retail landscape.
Branded as The Mobily Shop, the new store sells a range of mobility aids, including scooters, wheelchairs and specialist seating, adding to the company’s branded stores in Dorset’s Wimborne and West Moors.
Specialising in the supply of new & used mobility scooters and powerchairs, Mobility Scooters UK started in 2013 when founder Jasmin Andrews, frustrated by the lack of products available for a close family member with partial sight, started selling daily living aids.
The company later expanded into mobility scooters and powerchairs and has grown its presence in Dorset with the expansion of retail stores, as well as a growing e-commerce presence, as well as providing a repairs & servicing offering.
Located next to the popular Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown, the strategically placed new retail outlet, launched mid-May, adds to the growing number of retailers expanding their operations in the region.
Recently, Ableworld Bournemouth owners Chris Brown and Eddie Raileanu announced the launch of its new Christchurch store less than eight miles away from Mobility Scooters UK’s Ferndown outlet.
Within a 10mile-radius of the Bournemouth area, there is a minimum of five mobility retailers, jostling to gain and develop their foothold in the competitive South West coast zone, including Hearing and Mobility, Southcoast Mobility, Wessex Mobility, Ableworld and Mobility Scooters UK.
