New marketing and brand manager “hits the ground running” at Care & Independence
Care & Independence, a manufacturer and supplier of specialist moving and handling equipment for the less abled, has appointed Karen Poffley as Marketing and Brand Manager.
Karen had previously provided maternity cover and was contracted in the role for periods across 2019 and 2020, so was the “obvious and easy choice” to step into the vacant position, according to James Bennett, the firm’s Sales and Marketing Director.
Said James: “During both times Karen was working with us, she demonstrated a strong capability for the many and varied tasks required of this role as well as integrated herself well with the wider team.
“Her verve and work ethic is very high and that showed in the dedication to excellence and quality of the output. Previous exposure to the role also means Karen is able to hit the ground running – which is exactly what we need as we continue to develop the business.”
Karen brings over 20 years of marketing experience across a range of market sectors and said she is thrilled to be back. “Being able to complete the projects which were put on hold during the final months of my initial contract due to the pandemic gives me a personal satisfaction but also, what Care & Independence stand for, what they do, the difference they make to people’s lives…it really resonates with me.
“I’m very much looking forward to help shape and promote this fantastic company – it’s an exciting time to be part of the team.”
Oxfordshire-headquartered Care & Independence manufactures slings, shower chairs and cradles and stretchers, alongside selling a varied range of mobility aids and products to hospitals, nursing and residential homes and private customers.
Last month, Ian Jones, Managing Director of Care & Independence, was appointed to the BHTA Board of Directors. The organisation says it was a logical move for Ian to put himself forward for consideration given his wealth of experience and industry knowledge.
