New height adjustable wash basin is smallest fully-integrated unit on the market states Astor-Bannerman
Highlighting its new height-adjustable basin range as one of the most wheelchair accessible basins of offer, Astor-Bannerman has launched its Astor Aquba unit to the accessible bathing market.
Describing it as the smallest completely integrated unit available, the new product boasts a stylish and compact frame says the company, emphasising that it is an ideal solution for under window installations.
Made of a Corian style material that is smooth to the touch, the Astor Aquba’s unique shape at the front makes access to the basin and the taps easier and more comfortable, whilst an indented shelf at the rear helps to position soaps and other accessories that will go up and down with the basin.
Available in 450mm, 600mm, 750mm and 900mm basin widths, the low-profile concealed plumbing offers full under basin wheelchair access.
In addition, integrated load-bearing handles provide added support to enable the user to manoeuvre around the basin and are also purposely positioned to drape a towel over.
Mark Colebrook, Managing Director of Astor-Bannerman, commented: “The Astor Aquba delivers a product of the highest function with innovative features and looks that you would be proud of in any bathroom.”
The wash basin unit also has integrated controls with two custom memory recall positions, allowing the height to be altered at the touch of a button to the pre-set positions, or to any height within the range by pressing the up/down buttons.
For enhanced safety, the basin range incorporates anti-trap sensors when in operation, with the basin stopping and moving the opposite direction if an obstacle is detected when the basin is in motion.
Additionally, the new accessible bathroom aid includes a safety lockout functionality to prevent accidental or non-supervised operation
Designing and supplying solutions for over 25 years to support people living with complex care needs, Astor-Bannerman manufactures from its UK and German production facilities.
