Rachel Apsey RGN, Medstrom Commercial Director, commented: “This is an exciting time for Medstrom, especially seeing how much we have grown over the last 10 years. We have matured as a business and can now complement our close working relationships with manufacturers across Europe and the US with our own range of branded beds and mattresses.

“This not only benefits our customers in the UK and Ireland, but also outlines our promise for our international Distributors, as we continue to develop and innovate new solutions for improved patient outcomes.”

Having established a strong reputation for supplying a range of innovative products in the specialist beds and surfaces sector, Medstrom says it is now able to add manufacturing to its extensive portfolio.

Uncertainty surrounding Brexit prompted the company’s commitment to start manufacturing in the UK in 2020, sourcing many components locally.

Already being manufactured is the Medstrom Solo – a bedframe that delivers safety without compromise to both patients and caregivers. The Medstrom Solo has become the first product to be solely manufactured by the company.

With greater control over the manufacturing model, the beds specialist highlights that it is able to support customers with “highly responsive” delivery times, alongside its network of service centres and professionals nationwide.

Additionally, Medstrom has continued to invest in its clinical expertise and emphasis on evidence-based practice. Alongside a dedicated clinical director, currently studying for a master’s degree in Clinical Research, the provider has invested in a state-of-the-art educational facility, which addresses the main challenges facing the healthcare sector.

Led by clinicians, for clinicians, the organisation says it is continuously evolving to help customers utilise products more effectively.
