Motability Scheme to move One Big Day online in the wake of this year’s cancellation
The Motability Scheme has confirmed it will host an online version of its One Big Day events via Facebook in September after announcing the cancellation of the physical shows back in April.
According to the organisation, the new online version hosted on its Facebook Page will feature useful information about Motability scheme, as well as interactive Q&As with Motability experts and unique content including videos and photos.
Louise Vranic, One Big Day event organiser at Motability Operations, said: “One Big Day Online will give our Facebook fans the opportunity to find out all they need to know about the Scheme with information about how to join, links to the wide range of the cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, scooters and powered wheelchairs available to lease, and information on adaptations too. Scheme experts will also share information and answer questions, and there’ll be some fun too, with Billy the Bear making a digital appearance.”
It comes following Motability’s decision to cancel its entire calendar of events for 2020 in the wake of the coronavirus, including its One Big Days in Harrogate, Peterborough, and Edinburgh, as well as its two-day main event at the NEC.
“We were incredibly disappointed to have to cancel the 2020 programme of One Big Day events, but we’re excited to be bringing a version of the events to our customers online via Facebook,” added Louise.
“We really hope we can be back with our One Big Day events in 2021.”
Last month, Boris Johnson confirmed that exhibitions and conferences would provisionally be allowed to recommence in the autumn, however, many shows in the sector, such as the Posture and Mobility Group Conference, had already cancelled prior to the announcement.
One Big Day Online will take place on Thursday 10 September, 9 am-4 pm.
