MOtability The Big Event
The online version of The Big Event offers a fun and information-packed way to learn more about the Motability Scheme.

With COVID-19 restrictions affecting arrangements for large exhibitions this year, the Motability Scheme has decided to host a virtual version of The Big Event online on Friday 6th August and Saturday 7th August.

The event, which is primarily aimed at disabled motorists and their families, is hoping to bring all the information and fun of the real-life event to visitors to its virtual event – without the need for them to travel.

COVID-19 Government guidance, and the uncertainty regarding future restrictions led to Motability Operations cancelling all of its physical events for this year, which includes The Big Event and all regional One Big Days.

In a statement, the organisation explained that the safety and wellbeing of its customers, employees and partners are the key priorities. It also explained that big events, such as the ones it hosts, can’t take place in the same way while social distancing is likely to continue through to the autumn.

Motability Scheme operators can advise their customers to register online for the virtual version of The Big Event, where they can find out more about what the Scheme has to offer, including new car makes and models, advice on adaptations, and powered wheelchairs and scooters.

Louise Vranic, Organiser for The Big Event at Motability Operations, said that the online event will give customers and their families a fun and information-packed way to learn more about the Scheme’s worry-free motoring package.

“The Big Event will give disabled motorists the opportunity to find out all they need to know about the Scheme with information about how to join, displays of the wide range of the cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, scooters and wheelchairs available to lease, and information on adaptations too. Scheme experts will also share information and answer questions.

“We were incredibly disappointed to have to cancel the physical event programme for 2021 but we’re excited to be bringing a virtual version of The Big Event to our customers online. We really hope to back in 2022 with the One Big Day events we all know and love.”

Registered visitors of The Big Event can look forward to online displays of the vehicles available on the Scheme, and expert Speaker Sessions will provide helpful information to online audiences. Visitors will also be able to speak to all exhibitors through ‘live chat’ on the day, as well as Motability Scheme advisors and partners.

More information about the online event can be found on the Motability Scheme website.
