Monk Sticks launches ‘world first’ walking cane that features a fully integrated shoehorn

Prague-based start-up Monk Sticks has officially unveiled the Monk Stick, which it claims is the world’s first cane with a fully integrated shoehorn.
This innovative mobility aid combines practicality with elegant design, and has been designed to address the growing needs of an ageing population while offering a lifestyle upgrade for discerning users.
At first glance, the Monk Stick resembles a traditional cane. However, a discreet slider mechanism deploys a recessed shoehorn seamlessly from the shaft. The entire mechanism is internalized, giving the product a contemporary, refined appearance without compromising durability.
Jeremy Monk, founder of Monk Sticks, commented: “Working with some of the Czech Republic’s leading design engineers, we have developed and patented a truly unique product.
“Integrating a shoehorn into a cane ensures users always have this essential tool at hand, eliminating the need to bend or stoop when changing footwear. It’s a simple innovation that delivers dignity, convenience, and style.”
The Monk Stick is manufactured in partnership with an established Taiwanese walking stick manufacturer known for its craftsmanship and quality assurance. This collaboration, Monk Sticks states, ensures the product meets the highest international standards of safety and reliability.
Crafted from high-grade aluminium for lightweight durability, the Monk Stick meets all relevant international safety standards and has a maximum user weight of 300 lbs.
With the global walking aid market projected to reach US$4.5 billion by 2030, driven by rising demand from aging populations, the Monk Stick offers distributors and retailers an opportunity to introduce a category-defining product.
Monk Sticks is now actively seeking regional distribution partners and retail collaborations worldwide, with a particular focus on the UK and wider European mobility aid markets. For more information call +420 234 261 602 or e-mail monk@monksticks.com.
