Mobility retailer Mobility Scotland is celebrating being named one of the UK’s leading scooter and powered wheelchair dealerships in a national award that recognises outstanding service to customers of the Motability Scheme.

The awards are based on direct customer feedback and Mobility Scotland achieved highly commended status in the ‘Powerchair and Scooter’ category.

The awards recognise commitment to going above and beyond to deliver high standards of care and achieving “phenomenal” feedback from Motability Scheme customers, the mobility dealer notes.

Across three categories – large with a fleet size over 200, medium with a fleet size between 100 and 200, and small for those with a fleet between 35 and 100 – both a winner and a highly commended accolade was awarded to Mobility Scotland.

On being recognised in the national awards, Billy Finnie, Operations Manager at Mobility Scotland, commented: “We are so proud to be highly commended in these awards, especially as providing excellent customer service for our Motability Scheme customers is something our fantastic team takes very seriously. A huge thank you to all of our customers for their great feedback, it really means a lot that our customer service has made a positive difference to their experience.”

With over 16,000 scooter and powered wheelchair customers throughout the UK, the Motability Scheme offers a worry-free leasing option to disabled people with insurance, breakdown assistance and servicing included.

Ian Goswell, Commercial Services Director at Motability Operations, added: “The Motability Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Scheme dealership awards recognise those dealerships who consistently deliver excellent standards of customer service.

“It’s fantastic to see such high levels of customer feedback for Mobility Scotland especially given the difficulties 2020 brought. It’s a genuine pleasure to congratulate you on this highly commended award.”

Mobility Scotland is an award-winning mobility equipment provider headquartered in Kirkintilloch, Scotland.

In October 2020’s Trade Talk in THIIS Magazine, Billy discussed the early days of the pandemic, what has helped Mobility Scotland thrive for the last decade and a half, how to stand out in a competitive marketplace, and what the future now holds for the Glaswegian retailer.

The Motability Scheme is the UK’s leading car scheme for disabled people. It provides motoring to over 600,000 disabled customers and their families. Scooters and powered wheelchairs can also be leased through the Motability Scheme.

The scheme is available to anyone who receives the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment. Customers transfer their mobility allowance to Motability Operations to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair.
