Lifestyle and Mobility has announced its best year ever and with plans to continually expand its presence, the store has taken on two new members of staff at its Southend store in Essex.

The first new employee at the store was Katie, who is Lifestyle and Mobility’s first official apprentice and the company’s new sales co-ordinator. According to Lifestyle and Mobility, she will be trained to know and understand the mobility sector.

Her new role ensures that all phone calls to the store are answered to provide customers the best possible service and take out any frustrations of unanswered phone calls.

She is also responsible for running the engineers’ calendars and general admin. After one year with the store, she will have gained a full qualification in administration.

The second new member of staff is Tim, who is Lifestyle and Mobility’s newest engineer. He joins Lifestyle and Mobility as the seventh engineer across the retailer’s three different stores. The retailer emphasises that this is to ensure that customers are given the best possible service and quick response times.

Tim comes from a mechanical background and is currently being trained by the store’s head engineer James to ensure products can be fitted quickly both out on the road as well as in the workshop.

Darren Macey, Business Development Manager for Lifestyle and Mobility, said: “After a busy 2018 we felt our service levels weren’t where they needed to be and we needed to improve to maintain our high level of customer service that we have set ourselves. In doing this our competition can’t compete!”

To make way for the expanding team, Lifestyle and Mobility had to create more space in its store, which meant re-configuring its space out back. Lifestyle and Mobility removed the kitchen and relocated it to a different and much smaller area.

The store also knocked down walls and put in new false ceilings with vibrant led lighting. After that, the retailer installed “state-of-the-art” computer systems and work stations. The new office also doubles up as a meeting room and conference room for staff training and meeting with suppliers.

Darren commented: “We are sure that all the extra investment will prove and show dividends in next year’s accounts and are very excited to see what 2019 holds for us and wish all our new staff ever success in this wonderful industry.”
