The Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) is hosting its annual Mobility Open Day on the 9th of October, giving visitors a chance to see the latest mobility products, experience driving an adapted car, have seating and transfer assessments and much more.

A free-to-attend event, visitors can pre-book introductory assessments for a wide range of needs free of charge.

The assessments available include: adapted driving assessments and experiences with the ‘Get Going Live’ taster session; seating and transfer assessments for vehicles; bespoke powerchair assessments for children under five; plus, mobility scooter, wheelchair and child car seat assessments.

The event will be opened by Sue Rogers MBE, Manager for Mobility Centres in England.

Alongside the different assessments and experiences, there will be exclusive talks about recent changes to the Motability Scheme and break-out seminars for Approved Driving Instructors at the open day.

In addition, QEF’s partner charity MERU will be offering free adaptations for children’s toys, so they can be used with an accessible switch. These switches enable disabled children to play with their toys and join in with family and friends.

The QEF Mobility Open Day will run on the 9th of October 2019 from 10am-3pm at QEF Mobility Services, 1 Metcalfe Avenue, Carshalton, SM5 4NR.

To find out more about the event, register or book for any of the free introductory assessments, call 020 8770 1151, email mobility@qef.org.uk or click here
