Mobility equipment provider Millbrook Healthcare has relaunched its specialist telecare product range with a brand-new website and product range to make its products easier to purchase online.

Mi-Guardian forms an “integral” part of enablement for service users who may be at the end of their local authority support but who want to continue with their telecare products and can self-pay, according to Millbrook Healthcare.

The online customer journey enables users to sign-up for a monthly direct debit payment, with no upfront costs, giving them peace of mind 24/7.

Mi-Guardian offers a range of telecare products for end-users to purchase, including both digital and analogue alarm systems such as alarm pendants and wrist bands, fall detectors and bogus caller alarms. The equipment provider intends to extend the product offering further to include smoke, heat, and carbon detectors.

Millbrook Healthcare is working closely with local authorities to provide a seamless transition for its users from council funding to self-pay.

The Mi-Guardian 24/7 service also provides safety benefits such as a 365-days-a-year monitoring service, with a call centre managed exclusively by Millbrook Healthcare, meaning no outsourced calls for customers.

All calls are monitored by a “highly trained” and specialist team at the Worcester-based call centre providing round-the-clock support.

If any of the end-users are in need of assistance, they can press the button on their digital or analogue device and calls will be answered immediately where the team will either contact a family member, friend or call emergency services on their behalf.

Millbrook Healthcare is a major provider of community equipment, wheelchair, home improvement agency and telecare services, with 45 service centres located across England.

It currently supports several local authority contracts with telecare packages for thousands of end-users, helping clients to stay in their homes for longer, prevent hospital admissions, and facilitate a safe and timely discharge from hospital.

Last August, Millbrook Healthcare assisted Exeter City Council with an “equipment amnesty” by offering free collection of essential mobility aids from people’s homes across Devon for those who no longer needed the equipment in order to help with supply chain pressures.
