The rapid store portfolio expansion continues

Rapidly expanding mobility retailer Middletons is set to open the doors on yet another new store before the year is out, confirming that it will cut the ribbon on its new Burton Upon Trent branch this November.

Having recently increased its retail coverage in the South West, opening three branches in the region since August including its new Exeter store last month, Middletons has now set its sights back on the midlands.

The new retail showroom will be located in the town of Burton Upon Trent in Staffordshire and will mark the company’s ninth mobility shop opening this year – one of the quickest expansion programmes seen in the mobility sector.

Middletons, the bricks and mortar proposition from the owners of Bristol-based direct-selling furniture firm Oak Tree Mobility, has seen its store portfolio skyrocket since receiving a £3.8 million investment from the Development Bank of Wales and Wealth Club in early 2018.

Armed with the significant investment, owners Ricky Towler and Tom Powell set to work pursuing their national retail ambitions, confirming plans to open 24 stores across the UK by the end of 2020.

This year, the mobility retailer has already successfully launched eight new outlets across the West Midlands, East Midlands and the South West.

The Burton store will sit between the company’s Cannock and Nottingham locations as the organisation continues to increase its presence further east.

Fast becoming a proving ground in the mobility sector, Staffordshire is one of the most competitive counties in the mobility sector, with Burton having no shortage of established mobility companies within its vicinity, including Ableworld and Stuart Mobility.

In particular, the new Middletons store will see it compete directly with Burton Premier Mobility, situated less than a mile away from the growing mobility retailer.

Holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 30th November, Middletons confirmed it will be offering free refreshments, fun activities and exclusive discounts on the day, including £200 off selected scooters, half price on selected chairs and £150 off selected beds.
