Community equipment specialists Medequip has announced that it has been awarded an Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) contract covering the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge (BHR).

A spokesperson confirmed that the London management team has begun the engagement to guide all three Boroughs through a successful implementation process with a ‘go live’ date of 1st April 2022.

The BHR ICES contract is a framework agreement, open to all London Boroughs, and Medequip state that it has already been approached by other London Boroughs expressing an interest.

The contract comes after Medequip also announced recently that it had been awarded , which would help facilitate independent living in the community, palliative care, rehabilitation and end-of-life care.

One of the longest-serving outsourced providers of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities, Medequip was also recently awarded a five-year contract to provide an Integrated Community Equipment Loan service across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as well as a new contract with NHS Derby & Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Derby City Council that will last until the end of November 2023.
