Access BDD stairlift

With the growing trend for older people to stay living independently in their own homes for as long as possible, emphasises Access BDD, it’s reasonable to expect that a stairlift installed today could remain in active use for another ten or twenty years, bringing comfort, freedom and safety for users.

In light of this, Access BDD and its parent company thyssenkrupp Access have become the first manufacturers in the industry to offer a lifetime warranty option, available on its new Flow2 and HomeGlide stairlifts.

For a simple one-off payment made at the time of purchase, Access BDD dealers will receive a lifetime warranty on spare parts for that lift.

Access BDD Managing Director Andrew Warbrick said: “Our stairlifts are already renowned for their quality and reliability and by being the only manufacturer to offer a lifetime warranty, we’re sending out a strong message about the confidence we have in our products. It’s also a mark of the confidence we have in our partner network, as we know that our authorised partners keep our stairlifts maintained to the highest standards”.

The new lifetime warranty was introduced after consultation with existing business partners and receiving an enthusiastic response when it was launched at REHACARE 2018 in Düsseldorf.

Designed to be simple and flexible, the scheme gives Access BDD’s partners the freedom to choose how they present it to their customers. To retain the warranty, the stairlift must be serviced at least once a year, giving its partners the opportunity to offer the warranty as part of an annual service contract.

The free two-year warranty that Access BDD offers on its lifts will continue and for cases where the stairlift might only be needed for medium-term use, there is also the option to take out a five-year warranty.

The introduction of the extended and lifetime warranty comes as part of Access BDD’s pledge to partners to be “easier to do business with” – parts can be ordered online at Access BDD’s partner portal, and for warranty parts, there is no need for any additional financial or purchasing administration, meaning that parts get to where they’re needed as quickly as possible.
