Alone partnership with Beechfield Healtcare

Beechfield Healthcare, a provider of mobility, community care, aids for daily living and rehabilitation products, has announced a new partnership with ALONE, a charity providing vital assistance to older people in Ireland.

The new partnership will see Beechfield Healthcare provide vital financial and organisational support to the charity, which it says will enable both organisations to work together towards a mutually shared goal of promoting and increasing older people’s independence at home.

Working with older people who are socially isolated, homeless, living in poverty or crisis, ALONE supports hundreds of older people every week through its four main services – Support Coordination, Befriending, Housing with Support, and Campaigns for Change.

Speaking at the partnership launch, James Gargan, Commercial Director for Beechfield Healthcare, said: “We met with many excellent charities who do amazing work, but ALONE were the perfect match. ALONE work with older people to coordinate the practical and personal supports needed to live independently, and independent living is core to what we do at Beechfield Healthcare.

“This initiative enables us to leverage our experience in the provision of quality Independent Living equipment to support the extensive ALONE community nationwide.”

Not duplicating the services provided by other establishments, ALONE works in partnership with different organisations, providing either a direct service to the people who go to the charity or referring the person on to an organisation that can provide the support required.

Commenting on the new partnership, Seán Moynihan, CEO of ALONE, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Beechfield Healthcare and look forward to working with them in the coming months. Mobility and health difficulties are some of the top reasons that older people come to ALONE for support.

“As we expand throughout the country, we rely on support from organisations like Beechfield Healthcare to provide our services and we are very grateful to them for their assistance. Beechfield Healthcare has an ethos of supporting people to live at home for as long as possible and we hope that by partnering we can work together towards this shared goal.”

ALONE have offices in Dublin, Louth, Carlow, Kilkenny & Donegal and emphasises volunteers are always welcome.

Recently, the Irish healthcare provider introduced the innovative Bimeo, a high-tech, virtual-reality rehabilitation device, to its offering and in May 2019, scooped up the Growth Award at Handicare’s annual Dealer Day.
