LivingCare Group Rolls Out AI-Powered MRI Technology in Leeds
Yorkshire-based private healthcare provider LivingCare Group has successfully rolled out new AI technology within patient scans and imaging, following its investment in Siemens’ new Deep Resolve technology.
Deep Resolve is now utilised in LivingCare Group’s MRI service in Leeds, strengthening diagnostic imaging capabilities and improving scan quality, speed and patient experience.
As the first private healthcare provider in the North of England to implement the new technology on a 3T scanner, LivingCare Group’s imaging team will see Deep Resolve use its AI capabilities to reduce image noise, enabling high-resolution MRI images to be produced more quickly.
By shortening time spent in the scanner, the technology not only improves appointment availability and overall scanning capacity, it also increases patient comfort.
Where traditional MRI scans rely on patients remaining recumbent for long periods of time to ascertain strong enough imagery for diagnosis, a shortened length of time in the scanner makes MRI more accessible for those living with intense pain, for whom staying still is a big barrier to effective imaging.
By implementing AI technology in MRI scans, LivingCare Group says patients will have an easier route to successful diagnosis.
The introduction of Deep Resolve builds on LivingCare Group’s continued investment in diagnostic imaging, including its industry-leading 3T MRI scanner, which uses a powerful magnetic resonance to deliver enhanced image quality for more accurate diagnosis.
Helen Haigh, Head of Imaging at LivingCare Group, said: “We are extremely pleased to introduce Deep Resolve for MRI services at our Leeds Thorpe Park clinic.
“The improved clarity and resolution it delivers gives our clinical teams greater confidence when interpreting scans, supporting more accurate diagnosis. The reduced scan time also improves comfort for patients while allowing us to increase appointment availability.”
The technology will be available to patients requiring MRI scans at LivingCare Group’s Thorpe Park clinic from February.
Dr Stephen Feldman, Founder and Director of LivingCare Group added: “This is a significant step forward not only for LivingCare Group, but for diagnostic imaging more broadly. The introduction of Deep Resolve demonstrates the practical role AI can play in improving image quality, efficiency and clinical decision-making in healthcare.
“The UK continues to lag behind many comparable countries in imaging provision, with fewer scanners and ageing infrastructure. We are committed to providing both patients and clinicians with access to modern, high-quality diagnostic services, and to leading by example in how advanced technology can be used to support accurate diagnosis and care.”
Founded in 2002 by Dr Stephen Feldman, who brings more than 40 years’ experience in diagnostic and elite sports medicine, LivingCare Group delivers care to both private and NHS patients. Its clinical specialisms include cardiology, elite sports medicine, musculoskeletal and pain management, urology and prostate screening.
An independent study across seven care homes recently linked AI-enabled lighting to fewer falls-related hospital admissions and ambulance call-outs.
