Kymco has thrown its hat into the folding lightweight mobility scooter ring with two brand-new models – the K-Lite FE and K-Lite F.

Initially planned to be unveiled to the trade at spring’s Naidex prior to its postponement, the new range of mobility scooters from the manufacturer will now be available on the market in the summer.

The announcement of the new K-Lite collection comes as England continues to move slowly out of lockdown, with prime minister Boris Johnson confirming on the 28th May that Britain will begin lifting coronavirus restrictions starting Monday in a phased approach.

Incorporating the latest technologies in lightweight materials, electronics, folding mechanisms and safety, the lightweight K-Lite FE is the company’s electric auto-folding scooter whilst the K-Lite F is its manual folding version.

K Lite folded mobility scooter from KymcoPromising ease of storage, transportation and handling, the new compact scooters are designed to be a convenient travel companion for users, folding neatly into the boot of cars. Additionally, its small footprint when folded makes storage easy, slotting comfortably into cupboards and most storage areas around the home.

Boasting a special lightweight aluminium frame, the mobility scooters also use an ultra-lightweight lithium battery pack weighing only 1.64kg. The K-Lites can even be left in a different location to the battery pack, such as inside the boot of the car.

To make the mobility scooters even more manageable, Kymco has also included a quick release & removable seat to make allow for an even lighter package to lift, should the user wish.

For added convenience, the K-Lite models have “under-the-seat” storage bags to allow users to keep valuables close at hand – the front access pocket can even be reached while seated.

Specifically, the K-Lite FE also features a child-proof personal wireless remote, which enables it to be folded & unfolded automatically, as well as additional child-proof folding & unfolding buttons located just under the drive controls – in case the wireless remote is misplaced or lost.

With a low energy consumption LED light to enhance user visibility in lower ambient light conditions, the new range comes available in four modern metallic colours – Champagne, Glossy Black, Sapphire Blue & Mercury Silver.
