Jenx confirms closure of its manufacturing operations following consultation

Jenx has today confirmed that, following a full and meaningful consultation process, the company will proceed with the closure of its manufacturing operations.
This decision comes after a sustained period of financial pressure on manufacturing, reflecting broader challenges across the UK sector. Despite extensive efforts to identify alternatives, no viable long-term solution was found to maintain in-house production.
The closure will sadly result in the redundancy of 47 roles. Jenx Ltd is working closely with all affected employees to ensure they are well supported through this significant transition.
Holly Jenkins, Managing Director, said: “Reaching this decision has been extremely difficult and marks the end of a proud chapter in Jenx Ltd’s history. I want to sincerely thank every member of our manufacturing team both past and present for their contribution, expertise and dedication over the years.
“While this outcome is deeply sad, it is necessary to secure the future of our organisation and ensure we can continue delivering life-changing products and services to children and families.”
Moving forward, the business will focus on its UK distribution division, Jiraffe, which continues to grow and offers strong long-term potential. Jenx Ltd is also actively exploring opportunities to continue making some of its products available. While no decision or timeline has been finalised, the company’s priority is to provide as much continuity as possible for customers.
Customers can be reassured that all Jenx products already in use and those supplied in the coming weeks will continue to be fully supported throughout their lifespan.
Jenx will continue to work with its global partners to maintain full support for the many thousands of Jenx products which children rely on worldwide. Jiraffe remains fully operational and will continue to work in close partnership with Rifton, to supply innovative products and maintain high levels of service for children, carers, families, therapists and funding bodies across the UK.
Holly added: “Our mission to create a bright and inclusive future for all children remains at the heart of everything we do. With Jiraffe, we will continue to provide the highest quality specialist products and the dedicated support that children, carers, families, therapists and funding bodies across the UK rely upon.”
