Mobility equipment manufacturer Invacare partnered with Superhero Series’ fully accessible triathlon powered by Marvel last weekend.

Over 5,000 participants took part in the Superhero Tri event at Dorney Lake in Windsor, Berkshire, last Saturday. The Invacare UK team was present with a product showcase and hospitality tent.

Famous faces at the event included broadcaster Clare Balding, comedian Adam Hills and Paralympic gold medalist Sophie Christiansen. Backed this year by Marvel, the Superhero Tri is in its eighth year.

Lisa Cook Marketing Manager, Invacare UK, said: “It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be involved with this year’s Superhero Series event. We experienced a day where every day superheroes had the opportunity to really show their power, and it was such an inspiration seeing so many people participate and cross the finish line.

“As an organisation, it is important for Invacare to partner with event platforms such as the Superhero Series; it allows us to positively engage and connect with our community and customers.

“It’s thanks to the determination of the organisers and the help of all the partners that accessible sporting events like this can happen and as part of the 2024 summer of sport – what a day it was!”SPL WINDSOR SUPERHERO TRIATHLON183

Invacare UK joined the fun with various activities, including unveiling a one-off Cuthbert-inspired wheelchair with supermarket Aldi. Cuthbert cakes from Aldi surrounded the wheelchair at the event, with the chair delighting attendees and drawing plenty of smiles and photo opportunities.

Lisa added: “We were proud to have unveiled our fun caterpillar-themed Action 3 Junior in Windsor as part of our UNIQUE service. It created lots of happy and fun moments for families throughout the day.

“We offer a service called Unique at Invacare that personalises wheelchair designs, allowing people to choose their own style. We thought it would be an apt way to showcase how our products can be personalised at the Superhero Triathlon alongside fellow event partner, Aldi.”

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “Cuthbert has become a beloved character for many, and it’s heartwarming to see how he continues to inspire joy beyond our cake aisle. Now in the form of this amazing caterpillar-themed wheelchair, it was brilliant to see this unveiled by Invacare at the Superhero Triathlon.

“Aldi is incredibly proud to have been part of such an event to promote inclusivity and celebrate the superheroes taking part.”

Earlier this year Invacare announced that it had made some new appointments as it sought to expand its technical support and education departments.
