Innova Beds Spire Leeds Hospital

Continuing its work with Spire Healthcare Group and performing full bed audits across all its UK hospitals, Innova Care Concepts has recently delivered over 65 Interlude Newcare V3 beds to Spire Leeds Hospital.

Added to the Spire Healthcare suppliers list back in 2018, this latest order sees Innova’s Interlude range of electric profiling beds installed in one of Yorkshire’s largest private hospitals.

According to the Yorkshire-based healthcare equipment supplier, the beds mark the final stage of the hospital’s plan to replace their previous models with a more manoeuvrable and versatile alternative.

Providing personalised care and treatment across more than 30 medical specialities including orthopaedic surgery, cardiology and oncology, Spire Leeds Hospital’s new beds required a degree of versatility to support the care of a wide range of patients.

Joe Hulbert, Sales Director at Innova, co-ordinated an in-depth consultation, trial, and training process before recommending the Interlude Newcare V3 due to the product’s reliability, durability and adaptability, says the company.

Discussing the decision, Catherine Taylor, Nursing Services Manager, at Spire Leeds Hospital, said: “Joe arranged a visit with the ward manager, ward sister, and physiotherapists to discuss bed options best suited to our patients. A trial Interlude bed was arranged within two weeks and training was provided on the day to porters, housekeepers, nurses, and physiotherapists.

“Having trailed two other beds, the Innova bed met our requirements of easy manoeuvrability and suitability for our standard ward patients, bariatric patients, and younger patients. There were lots of options available – a narrow bed for ease in tight corridors, extension mattress platforms for our taller patients, bed controls built into the bed, and the handset with the option for a nurse-control-only unit at the end of the bed.

“Delivery was scheduled without disrupting the service we provide to our patients. Joe returned to the hospital to provide additional training on the delivery day in order to educate nurses, physiotherapists, porters, housekeepers and ODPs. I have no hesitation in recommending Innova to other healthcare providers.”

According to Innova, all the beds have built-in auto-regression as standard, allowing the bed and the mattress to move as one and exert a minimal amount of friction on the patient’s body.

Additionally, there are also more than 10 additional accessories to choose from, including x-ray plates, IV poles and nightlights, which allow the beds to be customised for personalised patient care.

The order follows a record-breaking year for Innova, which saw the healthcare equipment specialist grow its team and achieve 70 percent sales growth, as well as diversifying its offering with adding home lifts to its growing portfolio.
