Industry mourns passing of Cyclone Mobility’s Managing Director Stuart Dunne
Staff at Cyclone Mobility are mourning the loss of its leader, friend and inspiration, Stuart Dunne.
Stuart founded Cyclone Mobility 32 years ago, a firm which supplies bespoke, lightweight wheelchairs and is one of the UK’s foremost rehabilitation and training specialists.
In the wake of a spinal-cord-injury that occurred 36 years ago, Stuart started on a journey that would transform the lives of thousands within the disabled-community. Long into the future, the lives of many disabled people were enhanced by the hard work, commitment and passion with which Stuart lived his life.
As Cyclone Mobility’s Managing Director, Stuart was very well-known in the industry. Passionate about mobility, Stuart boasted an incredible wealth of knowledge of the active disability sector. He contributed to THIIS Magazine, and pioneered some of the newer products that came to market.
Although Stuart had been ill for some time, and had taken a much-reduced role in Cyclone, according to those that knew him, he approached his illness as he approached life: challenging the norms and living life to the full.
He battled fiercely until his final moments, when, surrounded by those he loved most in the world, he passed away peacefully on Thursday 9th December.
Staff at Cyclone Mobility have stated that the values he shared with the team has made them all the more committed to serving its many customers, old and new – a fitting legacy to the wonderful man who founded Cyclone.
They will mourn the passing of Stuart knowing that their lives have been made richer by knowing him.
