Terry Lifts 2019 OT Show
Terry Lifts’ new prototype three-door model

Cheshire-based homelift specialist Terry Lifts has reported receiving positive feedback from healthcare professionals after unveiling its prototype homelift at this year’s OT Show, suggesting the technology may be rolled out widely in the future.

At the beginning of November, the homelift manufacturer announced it would use this year’s occupational therapy event to gather attendees’ expert feedback and opinions on its three-door glass lift.

After the event, Adrian Sunter, Commercial Director for Terry Lifts, told THIIS that delegates had shown considerable interest in the new innovation, with both the improved access features and aesthetics being highlighted by occupational therapists.

“Our new prototype three-door glass lift proved a popular attraction, with many OTs showing particular interest in how it is being developed with greater dimensions and updated specification to accommodate wheelchair users and more than one person,” explained Adrian.

“Being fully-glazed, delegates were also impressed by the visibility that this affords – not only improving sightlines for the user but also enabling those outside the car to see inside.  The full-length glass lift door panels also give virtual transparency meaning it is sympathetic to any interior and will suit most properties.

“The ability to open the lift on three sides was undoubtedly the key feature for the visiting OTs.  Whilst this isn’t currently available on all models, it is still an industry-first and will lead the way in improving accessibility and future home aesthetics.”

Alongside revealing its new homelift model, the company also used the show to promote its training offering to occupational therapists, informing OTs that its training centre in Cheshire was available to learn more about both the theory and practical nature of its products.

“We were very excited to return to the OT Show and were rewarded with many familiar faces visiting the stand,” added Adrian.

“It was also a pleasure to welcome new, potential customers and meet those who had ordered from Terry Lifts in the past.

“It was certainly a show full of opportunities and we’re pleased with the number of high-quality enquiries that it has generated.  We look forward to welcoming delegates to our fully-certified training academy and operational showroom at our head office in Cheshire, in the New Year.”

This year, Terry Lifts brought its fully-enclosed Harmony FE through-floor-lift range to the market in July 2019 and has been actively expanding its distribution channels globally, exhibiting at Interlift 2019 in October in search of new export opportunities.
