Following its recent senior management restructure, Handicare has promoted Jason Skelding to UK Trade Sales Manager, building on the company’s 26 percent trade sales growth last year.

Having been with the company since 2014, Jason was previously a business development manager overseeing the stairlift supplier’s trade sales and growth in the Midlands, Wales and Ireland.

Now, he will assume responsibility for all trade partner sales including Handicare’s Trade Partner Scheme, as well as Companion’s Accredited Partner Referral Scheme.

The appointment follows a recent senior management restructure at Handicare, with Paul Stockdill promoted to UK Sales & Marketing Director and Patrick Dignan to Customer & Field Service Director as the company positions itself to accelerate growth.

“We have experienced strong growth thanks in part to the success of our partner schemes supporting dealers and mobility shops throughout the UK,” commented Paul Stockdill, Handicare UK Sales and Marketing Director.

“Jason has shown great tenacity on behalf of both the business and his dealers, and we’re confident his commitment to further improving the customer journey and growing the ‘OneFamily’ business will help us achieve our ambitious targets in the future.”

Announcing at its annual Handicare Dealer Day that its trade sales grew 26 percent last year, with Select Partners growing by 22 percent and Elite Partners by 40 percent, the company recently introduced a new partner level– Prestige Partner – to encourage all partners to climb to the next level.

Companion’s Accredited Partner Scheme, launched in 2017, also contributed to a 42 percent growth in direct-sales during the same period.

Commenting on his new role, Jason said: “I’m looking forward to working across our entire UK partner network to maximise growth for Handicare’s business as well as those of our customers. My priority will be to create a clear strategy for the needs of our dealers and accredited partners to ensure sustainable growth for the Handicare brand.”

The £62m turnover business with a workforce of over 300 distributes its straight and curved stairlifts locally through a network of high street retail partners including mobility dealers and shops; through local authorities; and as a national brand supplying direct to consumers.

The news comes as the company’s former Sales and Marketing Director David Harrison was appointed as Group Marketing Manager of Cibes Lift Group earlier this month.
