Handicare and Garaventa Lift launch new voice communication system for stairlift users
Global accessibility manufacturers, Handicare and Garaventa Lift, have announced the launch of a new voice communication system that lets customers call their emergency contacts directly from their stairlift or platform lift.
One Touch Alert is a discreet yet invaluable feature that utilises two-way communication. With the simple press of a button, the system connects users with assistance swiftly and reliably, if required.
David Harrison, Commercial Director EU/RoW at Handicare, commented: “We are fully committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and safety of anybody that uses our products. Additional features like the One Touch Alert offer extra peace of mind for lift users and their loved ones when it comes to maintaining independence at home.
“Users can choose the people they want programming as their emergency contacts and everything is set up during the stairlift installation, so no additional technical know-how is needed. They don’t even need internet connection – all that’s required is a generic Nano SIM card with a simple voice calling data plan.”
The One Touch Alert system can be pre-installed or installed on site, following online training. A custom-built app is also available for users, so emergency contact details can be changed.
One Touch Alert is available now on all Handicare stairlifts and Garaventa Lift platform lifts manufactured since April 2024, with the exception of Handicare’s Freecurve stairlift.
