Foundations webinar to explore innovative strategies that ensure housing truly supports health
Foundations, the organisation that supports local authorities and home improvement agencies across England to deliver better home adaptations, is launching a new webinar series.
Foundations Live is a monthly webinar series offering practical solutions and expert insights for professionals working with home adaptations. Those interested in attending the ‘Housing Without Delay: What is it and how to get involved’ webinar can register on the Foundations website.
The event will take place from 2pm on Tuesday 19 August 2025. It promises to provide a rich learning experience for occupational therapists, trusted assessors, operational managers, adaptations team managers, and commissioners.
The initiative, a collaboration between RCOT, Foundations, with sponsorship from Closomat, represents a step forward in integrating housing as a fundamental determinant of health within occupational therapy practices, says Foundations.
The session will welcome guest speakers including Paul Smith from Foundations providing a brief update on the latest sector developments.
Rachel Russell, Head of regional Advice at Foundations, will be presenting an in-depth exploration of ‘What is Housing Without Delay,’ providing insights into how this initiative aims to reshape the landscape of occupational therapy by seizing the opportunity to actively shape the importance of housing in overall health and wellbeing. .
Dr Jo Watson, presenting one of the key elements of the project, a Strategic Toolkit, Shane Elliott and Jill Pritchard with ‘Four Nation Perspectives’, and Lauren Walker from the Royal College of Occupational Therapists will present ‘Moving towards a prevention-focused model’.
