Obituary – Stephen Buckle

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Steve Buckle.

His passion for helping others led him to the ambulance service, where he thrived on face to face interactions with clinical staff and patients, specialising in handling patients of size with care and expertise.

Steve eventually returned to the commercial sector as Regional Service Manager for Five Mobility, overseeing daily operations at our HQ in Harlow, Essex. His dedication to excellence was evident in every role he undertook, he built lasting relationships at both clinical and commercial levels and was well loved by his colleagues and customers alike.

More than his professional achievements, Steve was cherished for who he was. He possessed an incredible kindness, competence, and a wicked sense of humour that could light up any room. He was a mentor to those cutting their teeth in the industry, a friend, and someone who always put people at ease with his big personality.

Steve shared his life with his beloved partner, Gwyneth Morgan, to whom he was recently married after many happy years together. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Gwyneth and Steve’s family during this incredibly difficult time.

For those who wish to pay their respects, Steve’s funeral will take place at 2pm on 17th January 2025 at Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium, Hertford Road, Hoddesdon, Herts, EN11 9BS.

Steve touched so many lives, and we invite you to celebrate his memory by sharing your memories and stories. Let’s honour his legacy by coming together as an industry to remember the incredible man he was.
