Experienced manufacturing exec joins Care & Independence as Operations and Project Director
Care & Independence, the manufacturer and supplier of a range of mobility and moving & handling equipment, has appointed Jim Ash as its new Operations and Projects Director.
With 25 years’ experience in manufacturing, including working with multiple blue-chip companies, many of whom are household names, Jim is a Chartered Engineer and certified improvement specialist.
According to the company, his knowledge base extends across many business segments in the fields of engineering, process improvement and operational management.
In the new role, Jim will be responsible for improving operational management whilst also lending his expertise in supporting the business with projects and improvements to business processes.
Ian Jones, Managing Director of Care & Independence, commented: “Through his own project management business, Jim has been assisting us over the last three months with several operational projects which have proven highly constructive. As a result, we felt it was beneficial to bring him on board permanently to help us achieve our business goals over the coming years. We are delighted he has accepted our offer and I know he will be a real asset to the company.”
With sites on the south coast, in the north and in Scotland, Oxfordshire-headquartered Care & Independence manufacture and supply specialist moving and handling equipment, boasting its own service and installation teams.
The company manufactures slings, hoists and track systems, shower chairs and cradles and stretchers, alongside selling a varied range of mobility aids and products to hospitals, nursing and residential homes and private customers.
Commenting on his appointment, Jim said: “I have visited all the production sites whilst a project contractor but I will be a more frequent visitor across all the sites now, and I’m looking forward to really getting to grips with the nitty-gritty, working with the teams and affecting positive changes.”
Jim will predominantly be based in the company’s Head Office in Bicester.
