Increasing its bricks and mortar store portfolio to three, Shire Mobility has brought its specialist-orientated service to the historic Oxfordshire market town of Banbury.

With branches already in Northampton and Bicester, the new store will increase the mobility retailer’s presence in the South East and enable it to grow its customer base.

Founded in 2001 by Managing Director Philip Purdie, the BHTA-member company has established itself as an expert in the specialist-spectrum of the market, with a focus on assessment and aftersales care.

Highlighting that the new store will see it develop in an area which it already has deep existing roots, Shire Mobility says it will bring its ‘specialist touch to an underserved population.”

“This is a big step forward for Shire, and one we’re very pleased to be taking here in Banbury,” commented Philip Purdie.

“We’ve found an excellent location, right underneath a multi-story carpark that has plenty of disabled spaces, and we’re all passionate about bringing our expertise to people on Castle Street and beyond.”

Boasting a mobility product portfolio containing standard and specialist manual wheelchairs, powerchairs, mobility scooters, stairlifts and seating & beds, Shire Mobility highly promotes its professional assessment service to customers, including offering home visits, check-ups and repairs.

“We believe everyone deserves the best quality of life possible, and mobility is a big part of that,” continued Philip.

“As a result, we’re looking forward to helping deliver this important service to everyone who needs it.”

Recently, the retailer also worked with supplier Pride Mobility and Oxfordshire County Council & Fire and Rescue to create a mobility scooter user group In Bicester and deliver helpful advice surrounding safety.

The new store is situated on Castle Street, Castle Quays, Banbury, OX16 5NU
