Sleep posture specialist Levitex is set to showcase a range of sleep and posture products and shout about the importance of professionals in the mobility, access and independent living sectors prioritising sleep from a business perspective at the upcoming RISE @ THIIS trade show.
RISE @ THIIS is the new trade exhibition and conference for those in the mobility, access, independent living and assistive technologies sector to discover new products, opportunities and connections.
It takes place on 10 May 2022 at the Doubletree at Hilton in Milton Keynes and is held in partnership between THIIS Magazine, British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and RISE 4 Disability
Levitex educates about sleep posture and gives people the means to improve it, both within the clinical world and directly to consumers. The firm, which sells a range of sleeping and positioning products, is the brainchild of Founder and CEO James Leinhardt.
Research, conducted by Royal Philips, found 70 per cent of people have reported new sleeping challenges since the start of the pandemic.
Discussing why these findings are important to the trade, James explained: “Now, these aren’t set to get any better by another change in the routine, aka return to the office. The time for sleep intervention is now.
“Businesses spend zero per cent of their wellbeing budgets on sleep, which is something their staff spend a third of their life doing, but did you know that 28 million days are lost by UK companies each year due to pain or disability?”
In line with the research findings, on stand 18 at RISE @ THIIS, Levitex will be showcasing the Levitex Sleep Posture pillow and mattress and Proning Kit to trade professionals and their customers. THIIS caught up with James Leinhardt, to find out more…
What are you looking to gain by attending RISE@THIIS?
James: “Sleep posture is the single most significant clinical intervention that no one’s talking about. It’s time to scream and shout the message, because if we don’t improve our sleep positioning, how can we improve the sleep positioning of those who are unable to do it for themselves?”
What products you are most excited to showcase at the event?
James: “The Levitex Sleep Posture pillow and mattress is our best defence system in the battle against gravity – your spine will thank you for trying it out. The pillow comes in four sizes to suit different body shapes, and has been designed to address pressure, posture and proprioception.
“Sleep is the time for treatment, and sleep posture is the simplest intervention there is. The pillow helps you achieve good sleep posture, so you can use the time you spend asleep to rest and recover. The mattress helps you take it a step further.
“We will also be demonstrating the Conscious Patient Proning Kit. The Proning Kit has opened up clinicians’ eyes to the benefits of using positioning therapy in hospitals, beyond rolled up towels. It is employed in ICUs across the North West and has been endorsed by the Health Secretary.
“Dr Shondipon Laha commented on the kit: “We’ve seen clear evidence of success in using proning – a technique that is more commonly used for patients with pneumonia and on ventilators – in the fight against COVID-19.”
