Andrew Stevenson, BHTA Chairperson

Andrew Stevenson, Chairman of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA), will be advising companies in the mobility and access sector about how to expand into B2B and B2C routes in the UK at the upcoming RISE @ THIIS conference.

His presentation, ‘Expanding your products and services into public sector frameworks and public and private sector commissioned service contracts’, is set to provide a wealth of knowledge to attendees.

The RISE @ THIIS conference will take place at 9.15am on 10 May 2022 at the Doubletree at Hilton, MK Stadium, Milton Keynes.

Andrew will talk about public sector contracts and private commission contract companies, and provide insights into how companies can get their products and services into these contracts.

The 30-minute conference is aimed at mobility and healthcare products and service providers at all levels, from start-up companies, SMEs, right the way up to big multi-million-pound companies.

A key focus in the talk at RISE @ THIIS will inform mobility retailers about how to interact and communicate with the contracting bodies, be that public sector or private company contractors who support them in some of the product and service requirement.

The session will be quick and detailed, according to Andrew, and will provide a view into the public sector bodies that contract, the contacts in the terms of how to get some initial detail and similarly with the private sector.

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to ask Andrew questions at the end of the presentation.

When asked if the presentation is relevant UK-wide, Andrew said: “The whole of the UK has public sector procurement programmes.

“Certainly in England and Wales there are also private company contractors who are looking for products and services to support their bids and if they want the contract, to work on the contract. Opportunities are open to all.”

Andrew has senior board experience in community equipment product and service providers across the UK and international markets; successful product introductions into framework and contracts across NHS, adult social care, and private sector B2C channels; and strong public sector stakeholder network developed during CEO and Chairman roles with the BHTA.

Having presented a similar talk on public sector contracts and private commission contracts at the Trade Days conference a number of years ago, Andrew says this topic is possibly more relevant now than it was then. Proving a popular session, he decided to upgrade the talk in terms of where the market is in 2022.

Andrew further commented: “There will be a Q&A session at the end and I’m more than happy to have one-on-ones with those companies to look at how we can assist them a bit more to get closer to them.”
