Disability Awareness Day has five strands interwoven into a colourful, inspiring, fun and informative day out.

Over 500 exhibitor spaces were booked by organisations including voluntary, statutory and business sectors all working to a common goal of “Promoting Independence Throughout Life & Work”, with support groups and services, equipment, transport, technology, holidays, benefits, employment, education, training, mobility, leisure, recreation, sport and much more.

The DAD Sports zone offers chances to ‘have a go’ at participating in Scuba Diving in our on-site pool with kit and instructors from Cheshire Scuba Academy, Wheelchair Fencing, Archery, Golf, Boxing, Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, wheelchair Rugby, Martial Arts, New Age Curling, Small Bore Rifle Shooting, multi-sports activities and the climbing wall. All activities are supported by qualified coaches and instructors. The Sports Zone is sponsored by Active Cheshire and Gladstone Brooks. Plus there will be information on how you can get involved in local weekly in activities.

There is an exciting programme of performing arts in the Arts Marquee with audience seating for up to 600 people. The 2019 line up included internationally acclaimed Carly Ryan, nationally acclaimed Ella Together, The Rock Choir and Warrington BSL Signing Choir and much much more.

Children’s Entertainment includes something for all abilities with all the fun of the fair provided by Chadwick’s Family Fairground Rides. Walton Hall Rangers will be pleased to see you visiting the Walton Hall Zoo.
