eFOLDi partners with EMO at Madrid expo to drive awareness in growing Spanish mobility market
Portable mobility specialist eFOLDi teamed up with EMO, a Spanish manufacturer of orthopaedic solutions, to showcase its Lite and Power Chair products at the recent Orto Medical Care expo in Madrid.
The event proved successful for both parties, with EMO stating its aim to expand market penetration in a rapidly developing home market.
As an internationally recognised business with over 50 years’ experience, EMO has built up a strong reputation within the orthopaedics segment, manufacturing and supplying a diverse range of products from orthotics to footwear and prosthetics.
Based in the port city of Valencia on Spain’s Levantine coast, EMO’s headquarters acts as the base for its international operations which distributes a range of orthopaedic products to more than 20 countries worldwide as well as an exclusive nationwide distribution network of Spanish dealers.
The Orto Medical Care exhibition which is hosted at the IFEMA venue in Madrid attracted more than 18,000 visitors this year and it has become one of the premier events in southern Europe, for professionals working within the social and healthcare sectors.
The Spanish market for disability products is underpinned by favourable demographic factors, with an ageing population and a much higher than average life expectancy, according to OECD indicators.
Carlos Ronda, Director of Sales, at EMO, commented: “The market for lightweight, portable mobility products is not as evolved as in other markets, like in the UK, France or the Netherlands, but it is growing at a fast pace. Competition is still fierce but our partnership with eFOLDi is proving to be very effective.
“To start with, we were only selling the Power Chair model, then we took the decision to market the Lite scooter as well. We didn’t regret that decision, as it is now our biggest seller out of the two eFOLDi products. We experienced some great success at the recent expo in Madrid and the lightweight scooter and powered wheelchair both proved popular with visitors on our stand.
“I’ve known Tim Ross in the industry for quite some time, and he was a huge help on our stand at the exhibition, providing hands-on sales training and supporting the EMO team with product demonstrations. It certainly helped us frame the unique benefits of the eFOLDi products, and this translated into strong unit sales at the event. The team at EMO find working with the eFOLDi team very easy, communication between us is good and they are always quick to respond whenever we need support.”
Tim Ross, National Sales Manager for eFOLDi noted, “We were delighted to be able to support the EMO team at the Orto Medical Care expo in Madrid. Footfall at the event seemed high and EMO had a very impressive stand that accommodated a small dining area serving some of the best paella I’ve ever tasted! They really know how to look after their customers, and you can see how they’ve built up such a good reputation in their home market.
“EMO is a very established, respected business in Spain, and we view the collaboration as an exciting partnership opportunity. We look forward to working closely with Carlos and his team and helping EMO grow their business in the coming months.”
Recently, eFOLDi announced that it had launched a new product labelling concept that uses QR barcode technology to support its growing network of mobility retailers and help drive best-practice for field training and product awareness.
