Eden Mobility continues its nationwide growth with acquisition of Derbyshire Mobility
Mobility retailer Derbyshire Mobility has been sold to Eden Mobility, a fast-growing provider of mobility aids nationwide.
Rob Cartledge, the former director of Derbyshire Mobility, has now taken on the role of Strategic Projects Manager at Eden Mobility.
Rob commented: “This marks the end of an important chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one. I’m incredibly proud of what we have built over the years, from a local mobility retailer started by my Dad in 1998 to a multi-site business serving communities across Derbyshire with a brilliant, dedicated team.
“Eden brings scale, expertise, and long-term ambition following their own acquisition in 2024 as we look to build the best mobility brand in the UK. I am confident the business, the team, and most importantly our customers are in excellent hands as we continue to grow as part of the Eden team.”
Rob said that as Strategic Projects Manager he will be looking to grow Eden’s offering outside of the existing retail operation.
Derbyshire Mobility made its way into the mobility industry way back in 1998 with a goal of providing top-quality specialist medical equipment such as mobility scooters, stairlifts, wheelchairs, accessories, and more, to the Derbyshire area and beyond.
Over the last 10 years, Rob built a multi-location operation with three showrooms in Derbyshire, including a two-floor showroom in Chesterfield, which opened in 2023, in addition to stores in Ripley and Matlock.
Eden Mobility’s continued growth, enabled by investment and support from Foresight Group, has been expanding its presence across the UK at pace. This included the opening of a 39th retail store in Peterborough in August 2025.
