Providing a variety of solutions for people with mobility needs and disabilities, eBay has unveiled its new Independent Living Hub, including mobility products, daily living aids, incontinence products and orthotics.

According to eBay, it saw 1.3 million shoppers in the medical and mobility category last year. It also said that the demand for mobility products has seen a 20 percent increase year-on-year, which led to the launching the Independent Living Hub in time for the Disabled Access Day on the 16th of March 2019.

The new hub aims to help consumers find everyday products that enhance their quality of life, allowing them to search through a single platform instead of multiple retailers.

Additionally, the online marketplace plans to increase its product offering based on customers’ requirements over the next year.

Keith Metcalfe, Head of Lifestyle Trading at eBay UK, told the Retail Gazette: “With products including everything from mobility and clothing, to home, garden and car accessories – our overall aim is to become the first richly diverse ‘one stop shop’ for people coping with disabilities and make independence easier with the clicking of a button.”
