The Devi UP rails
The Devi UP’s unique rail system allows for curved stairlifts to be installed with dramatically reduced lead times

An innovative stairlift product that uses patented individual components to create and install a curved rail system with lead times that can compete with straight stairlifts is making its UK debut.

Leicestershire-based stairlift specialists Candor Care has agreed to a new partnership deal with Dutch stairlift manufacturer Devi Stairlifts, becoming the first distributor and installer of the Dutch firm’s ‘UP’ stairlift in the UK.

The Devi UP was created by the Netherlands company’s owner, Dennis Vroegindeweij, an industry veteran and stairlift expert who designed the Van Gogh Curved Stairlift during his time with Freelift B.V. (now Handicare).

Following the development of modular curved rail systems over the last 20 years, Devi has focused on designing patented technology requiring only a handful of components that are simply bolted together to form the desired rail layout.

The rail parts are manufactured from castings and aluminium extrusions similar to straight stairlift tracks and can be easily stocked, resulting in lead times that can compete with those offered with simpler straight stairlifts according to Candor Care.

In addition, the UP stairlift rail system is manufactured from aluminium, a lighter and more sustainable material as opposed to steel, and features patented curved sections with the ability to be easily connected and form every conceivable curvature claims the company.

Alan Ferguson, Managing Director at Candor Care said: “I was delighted to travel to meet Dennis and formalise our new partnership. We are thrilled to have the privilege of bringing the Devi UP stairlift to the UK and we can’t wait to start introducing it to customers along with installing a working Devi UP in our stairlift assessment centre.”

The Leicestershire independent provider of stairlifts and moving and handling products says it is confident it will be possible to provide a next day installation service of the Devi UP for customers who are looking for an immediate solution.

Formed in 2004 and with a showroom in Coalville, Leicestershire, Ashby-de-la-Zouch-based Candor Care started out providing stairlifts to local authorities and private end-users throughout the Midlands, before extending its range, now supplying a wide selection of mobility products.
