Drive Devilbiss Healthcare ceases trading of its direct-to-consumer Livewell website
Mobility equipment manufacturer Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare has now made the decision to immediately cease trading of its Livewell website and its associated marketplace channels.
At the beginning of 2024 Drive agreed on a commercial arrangement to secure the online assets and associated intellectual property rights to Livewell Today Ltd, as stated here.
Since bringing the brand in-house, Drive has used the last six months to evaluate the Livewell business as part of devising a renewed strategy and vision for its retail division next year, and beyond.
The conclusion was that Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare’s long-term, strategic intent is to grow and support our B2B business as such, Livewell Today, as a direct-to-consumer brand did not fit within those parameters.
Drive will now continue to focus on strengthening its retail strategy across three newly formed subdivisions: Independent Retailers, National Chains and eCommerce stores. This strategic realignment aims to drive growth in the broader retail market.
Seb Webster, Head of Retail at Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, commented to THIIS: “Back in February, we talked about the devolvement of the Livewell brand, and we asked for time and patience from our dealer base.
“We made several commitments at that time, and I am pleased that we have been able to follow-through on our original goals. Moving forward, we will reaffirm our efforts on building a robust B2B strategy, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our retail partners under the new retail structure.”
