Dolphin Mobility Yorkshire and Cumbria selected as key launch partner for the ‘Ultimate Stairlift’
Yorkshire-based company Platinum Stairlifts has asked mobility retailer Dolphin Mobility Yorkshire and Cumbria to become an integral partner for the official launch of the Ultimate Stairlift.
Unveiling the new single tube curved stairlift at The OT Show in November 2018, Platinum says that its new Ultimate Stairlift provides various new, solution-based benefits to address the increasing demand for domestic stairlifts.
Before a new product can be officially launched, it needs to undergo a degree of third-party insight, evaluation and development to ensure it will fully perform to expectations, and is robust and reliable. With this in mind, Platinum chose Dolphin Mobility Yorkshire and Cumbria to be its key launch partner.
This move saw Dolphin Mobility provide the Ultimate Stairlift to a number of its existing customers to gather feedback on: ease of surveying, ordering, specifying, installing, reliability and servicing. The company also gathered feedback on the ease of user interaction.
Speaking about the evaluation period, Dolphin Mobility Managing Director Gareth Watkinson said: “We pride ourselves on advising and supplying the most appropriate product for our customers’ needs and circumstances rather than ours. This is one of the principle reasons we like to work with a large number of stairlift manufacturers. So when Platinum approached me asking to help evaluate and test their new curved stairlift I felt both honoured and curious.”
Gareth also acknowledged the difficulty in providing lifts for staircases that incorporate turns, spirals, landings, multiple levels and narrow widths.
He added: “With the more complex staircases the choice, availability and suitability is more restricted, so it is always exciting to see a new curved stairlift model become available.
“The Ultimate offers some excellent and unique features that provide some exceptional, solution based benefits. Things like the first step start that removes the need for a hinged track, the 75 degree incline, a slim 80mm rail diameter, a 210mm bend radius, the flush finish, an optional upgraded 160kg (25st) weight capacity, the three options of travel direction and two way powered swivel to name just a few.”
The managing director highlighted that these unique features have allowed Dolphin Mobility to specify and installed the Ultimate Stairlift into 12 new properties, that the company previously would have been unable to do so.
Speaking about the feedback Dolphin provided, Platinum Stairlifts Sales Director Mark McNulty said: “We approached Dolphin Mobility Yorkshire and Cumbria for a number of reasons; firstly they are based nearby in York, but more importantly we have a very good relationship with directors Gareth and Justin and were very keen to get some real, ‘hands on’ pre-market development and evaluation from a well-respected homecare retailer with high standards that would not be afraid to provide constructive and candid assessments.
“The feedback from Dolphin Mobility, along with some other organisations, was very good and played an important and intrinsic part in the decision to unveil the Ultimate curved stairlift in November last year.
“Moving forward we will be looking to work with a number of carefully selected dealers and partners that can offer, like Dolphin Mobility, the service levels we expect to ensure end users get the best experience with the right products supplied and looked after by local companies.”
