Dolphin Lifs Midlands foodbank donation

Aiming to provide additional support to those in need this Christmas, West Midlands-based Dolphin Lifts Midlands has recently made a substantial donation to the Black Country Foodbank.

Recently voted the Family Business of the Year at this year’s Black Country Chamber Awards, the donation comes as part of the stairlift specialist’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local area.

According to the company, the inspiration behind the idea of donating to the food bank came from Teresa Farrington, wife of Managing Director Lee Farrington.

“When our daughter Olivia took part in harvest festival at school, all the children took food into school for the foodbank and when she explained what amazing work they do, I decided we would do something similar at work,” explained Teresa.

Each member of staff at Dolphin Lifts Midlands was asked to bring in something to contribute to the collection, with the wide range of donations including milk, soup, toilet roll, rice, pasta and much more.

Teresa, along with Holly Truss and Bev Turner, then hand-delivered the goods of essentials to the Black Country Foodbank ‘s warehouse on Albion Street, Brierley Hill, where it was allocated out to 23 distribution centres around the region.

“Seeing first-hand what amazing work everyone at the Foodbank does makes you appreciate how lucky you are to be able to take having food at home for granted,” continued Teresa.

Praising the mobility company’s efforts, Black Country Foodbank Manager Mike Crook commented: “Donations such as this are invaluable to us and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Dolphin Lifts Midlands, especially Teresa for organising such a generous donation.

Established in the industry for over 30 years, Dolphin Lifts Midlands supply, install and service a wide range of access solutions, including stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, through the floor lifts and hoists.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their generosity,” finished Lee Farrington, Managing Director of Dolphin Lifts Midlands.

“We pride ourselves on being a local business which supports the local community and I hope what we have done makes a small difference to people who may be going through tough times over the festive period.”
