Reception - Direct Healthcare Group 900

Continuing its expansion plans, Direct Healthcare Group (DHG) has acquired Talley Group Ltd, boosting the pressure care manufacturer’s current pressure ulcer prevention portfolio.

The acquisition provides DHG with entry into the negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) therapy markets.

The brand developed one of the leading dynamic alternating mattresses in the Quattro range, and more recently, Talley began manufacturing complimentary ranges within NPWT, IPC, and cleaning and disinfection.

The acquisition of Talley Group Ltd. continues to strengthen DHG’s clinically focused pressure area care division, with the addition of the Quattro and Duocare ranges providing a comprehensive portfolio to its customer.

DHG have stated that combining with Talley’s expertise in the manufacturing of pressure area care equipment will ensure that its customers will continue to be provided with cost-effective products that achieve better health outcomes and economic efficiencies.

The capacity to rent, service and decontaminate equipment is also significantly enhanced through the acquisition, providing customers with a nationwide coverage of service centres and access to over 70 dedicated technicians.

Graham Ewart, CEO of Direct Healthcare Group, said: “The acquisition of Talley Group Ltd. continues to position Direct Healthcare Group as a leading provider of solutions that can offer a significantly improved quality of life to those suffering from pressure ulcers.

The combination of decades of experience in developing, manufacturing, delivering and maintaining pressure area care products enables us to provide our customers with a unique level of service.”

Further, the acquisition provides Direct Healthcare Group with the opportunity to continue to diversify the ways in which it can significantly impact the lives of those who are affected by reduced mobility.

Graham Ewart: “We continue to recognise the ways in which reduced mobility can lead to both significant harm, but also a reduction in daily living quality.

“Venous Thromboembolism and chronic wounds are two such areas that we believe we can impact to help support healthcare professionals in managing and preventing these avoidable harms.”

Chris Evans, joint CEO of Talley Group Ltd., said: “The vision and knowledge of Direct Healthcare Group reassures us that Talley’s customers, and the products we have developed over the years, are in the most capable ownership.

“The development and investment that will be delivered by DHG will accelerate a strong foundation that has been built and provide healthcare providers with solutions that make a clinical difference.”

In December 2019, ArchiMed, an independent investment firm specialised in the healthcare industries, bought out Direct Healthcare Group, providing a significant capital commitment to continue to target strategic acquisitions.

The acquisitions, it said at the time, would have a particular focus on expanding Direct Healthcare Group’s European presence, whilst simultaneously adding clinically effective products that further the company philosophy of advancing movement and health.

The pressure care solutions manufacturer most recently acquired Lynch Healthcare Group, which manufactures a wide range of patient slings, hoisting equipment, and shower chairs.

It was the firm’s fourth acquisition of 2020 following purchases of Finnish pressure care and patient handling manufacturer Carital Group Oy, Handicare’s Patient Handling Europe division – which supplies transfer, repositioning and lifting aids, and Swedish rehabilitation aids specialist GATE Rehav Development AB.

Direct Healthcare Group was recently ranked fourth in the 2021 annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 announced recently, making it the highest-ranked company in the mobility and access sector to feature in the list.
