Direct Healthcare Group bolsters moving and handling team to offer nationwide coverage
Having recently acquired and integrated Handicare Patient Handling UK, Direct Healthcare Group has formed a single Safe Moving and Handling team headed up by experienced national sales manager William Kelly.
Growing to a team of 10 professionals, each member of the new unit has qualified with A1 Risk Solutions to RoSPA Moving and Handling (level 4), enabling them to offer professional guidance and moving and handling best practice suited to an individuals’ requirements.
According to Direct Healthcare Group, its nationwide team of qualified professionals will now always be within close proximity to healthcare professionals to help support and manage their caseloads by providing moving and handling solutions.
The increased moving and handling support capacity follows Direct Healthcare Group’s acquisition of Handicare’s Patient Handling operations in Europe and the Rest of World markets, excluding North America, in May.
The new team will now be able to offer Direct Healthcare Group’s comprehensive range of moving and handling solutions to healthcare professionals as it continues to position itself as a total solutions provider for around the clock care in bed, at the bedside and beyond.
Over recent years, the Caerphilly-headquartered manufacturer has considerably grown its product portfolio, largely through strategic acquisitions including Nightingale (2016), Kirton Healthcare (2017), Karomed’s Transflo brand (2018), Qbitus (2018) and GATE Rehab Development (2020).
William Kelly, National Sales Manager for the Safe Moving & Handling division, commented: “The formation and expansion of one Safe Moving & Handling team is a great step forward providing a total solutions provider for moving and handling equipment and specialist seating.
“Early mobility is essential to maintain a client’s health and wellbeing – our competent team, coupled with access to increased solutions, aim to improve clinical outcomes for all users.”
In addition, the Safe Moving & Handling team will be available to host certificated skills workshops and joint assessments either virtually or face-to-face where it will focus on enabling individuals to remain at home for longer and support hospital discharges.
To provide additional support by releasing more time to assessments, the company has also increased the number of business development managers covering territories, with Direct Healthcare Group adding that this may result in a new point of contact for some customers.
