lifestyle and mobility signage

With retail shops allowed to reopen in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and Scotland not far behind, the UK government has launched a new tool to help retailers identify if they are COVID-19 Secure or not.

As lockdown restrictions are rolled back, companies are permitted to reopen retail premises, offices and more once they are COVID-19 Secure.

COVID-19 Secure is a set of guidelines created to help businesses with employees who cannot work from home to ensure their team remain as safe as possible from coronavirus transmission.

The guidance covers eight workplace settings, including operating retail premises and working in other people’s homes.

Earlier in the month, several leading mobility retailers from across the country shared the measures they have taken to become COVID-19 Secure, including limiting opening hours, introducing new signage, operating personal shopping services and more.

To become COVID-19 Secure, employers are required to carry out a COVID-19 Risk Assessment and now the government has released a new online tool designed to make the risk assessment easier.

Companies just need to answer a series of questions relating to their business’ specific situation and the tool will suggest a number of recommended measures that can be implemented.

The step-by-step tool is designed to help companies identify workplace adjustments that should be made to keep staff safe.

The tool is now available online.
